TheBridge2Hope - for safety, recognition and empowerment

About us

Foundation TheBridge2Hope: against human trafficking and modern slavery

Initiator of TheBridge2Hope Foundation is Sheetal Shah (PhD). She researched the situation of survivors of sexual violence and exploitation. Shah interviewed 40 survivors and mapped out what they needed to rebuild a dignified life. She saw that psychosocial care and integral support for this group did not yet exist, and started in 2015 TheBridge2Hope.

TheBridge2Hope consists of three pillars:

  1. Academy for direct support to the survivors.
  2. Research for scientific research on trafficking in human beings and sexual exploitation.
  3. Advocacy to raise awareness of the problem and influence policy.

By combining the three pillars, TheBridge2Hope makes a strong advocate for a free, independent and safe life for the survivors, regardless of whether they are documented or not.

Vision The Bridge2Hope

TheBridge2Hope strives for global recognition and empowerment of survivors of human trafficking and exploitation.

Mission The Bridge2Hope

TheBridge2Hope supports survivors of human trafficking and enables them to live an independent, free and safe life.

"Anything you could use to make contact with your family was taken away. They told us we had to go into prostitution to pay off our debt. They told us there was nothing we could do about it. After all, we didn't know anybody, we didn't have anybody here."
